Východočeský sborník historický (East Bohemian Historical Proceedings) is a peer-reviewed academic periodical providing a platform for the publication of original scholarly research on history and archeology. It publishes the results of basic research focusing mainly on East Bohemia. It has been published since 1991. In 2011 it was listed in the prestigious ERIH database (European Reference Index for the Humanities). Currently two issues are published per year.
Peer review
All papers submitted for publication in Východočeský sborník historický are reviewed via a two-step process:
1) The editorial board decides at its regular meetings whether the paper should be admitted to the peer review stage;
2) If the paper is accepted for peer review, it is reviewed by two experts in the field, each from a different academic/research institution, who compile written reviews of the paper. On the basis of these reviews, the paper is either recommended for publication in its unchanged form, recommended for publication with reservations (i.e. after necessary changes), or not recommended for publication.
