In the footsteps of the Pernštejns in Pardubice

TOUR ROUTE: FOLLOWING THE FOOTSTEPS OF THE Pernštejns IN PARDUBICE

This tour route reveals the legacy left in Pardubice by the Pernštejns – one of the most prominent noble families of their era. The tour takes you to some of the most historically and artistically valuable buildings in the city, spanning a range of styles from late Gothic to Renaissance and Baroque. The main focus is on a group of buildings dating from a period which lasted just 69 years, when Pardubice was owned by William (Vilém) of Pernštejn and his sons Vojtěch and Jan.

Stops on the route:
Pardubice castle – the moat, the barbican (Příhrádek), house no. 21, nos. 11 and 12, no. 6 – the old city hall, the “U Jonáše” house, the Church of the Annunciation of the Virgin Mary, the “Spolkový dům” club-house, the “White Horse” house (U Bílého koníčka), the Marian column, house no. 3, the city hall, houses nos. 77 and 78, no. 116, Wernerovo nábřeží – the “town stream”, the Imperial Mill (Císařský mlýn), the Church of St. Bartholomew, the belfry, the Green Gate (Zelená brána)
